ABOUT

Caeli: chay-lee
Latin for heaven

“Eternity draws nigh and do we think about it!” — St. Louis Martin

“Before wanting sanctity for others, I would very well have to take the road myself, something I’m not doing.” “I would often say during the day, ‘my God, how I would like to be a saint!’ Then, I don’t do the work!” — St. Zélie Martin

“The world is thy ship, not thy home.” — St. Thérèse of Lisieux

“And that is why, at the end of all things, when the sun rises here and the twilight turns to blackness down there, the Blessed will say ‘We have never lived anywhere except in Heaven.’” — C.S. Lewis, “The Great Divorce”

What was the secret of the saints? How did they live so authentically, recognizing that every moment was an opportunity to live for eternity?

At Caeli, we elevate the voices of Catholic women, primarily those in their 20s, 30s and 40s, sharing their stories of faith and how they kept eternity in mind amid their daily life. Every moment is an opportunity to encounter Christ and respond to his invitation toward sainthood. But do we respond? Too often we fall into complacency. Our community strives to uplift and encourage one another further up and further in to the authentic life of heaven — which starts now!

Inspired by spiritual friends of the past — namely the Martin family of Lisieux (Louis, Zélie and Thérѐse's) and C.S. Lewis — we aim to show that sainthood isn’t easy, but it can be simple — made from little daily choices to love God in the smallest moments.

Behind Caeli

Hey, ladies!

Ava, here — the editor behind Caeli. I'm a midwestern girl with a heart for supporting people’s stories. I'm also a Jane Austen enthusiast, chai tea addict, grammar activist, amateur sourdough baker and gal pal to St. Thérèse — on whose feast day I married my beloved, Dominic. We also have our sweet boy, Linus. Follow me on Instagram @avalalor.
